Music Heals

Posted on: May 12, 2020

It’s no secret that music has the power to heal. And right now, hospitals and healthcare centers need that more than ever.

That’s why we’ve created Music to Remember. This program was inspired by the powerful (and scientifically proven) role that music plays in restoring the body, soul, and memory. Every Tuesday at 2:00 PM PST, LA Opera teaching artist Nandani Sinha leads virtual performances in hospitals and healthcare centers around Los Angeles.

These virtual recitals feature familiar songs and beloved classics (plus a few special requests too). And of course, singing along is always encouraged.

Music To Remember

“Nani has been amazing, and each session brings so much joy,” said Erin Madigan, Director of Development for Able ARTS Work, one of LA Opera’s partners in Music to Remember. Like so many other organizations in the quarantine era, Able ARTS made a rapid shift to online programming to continue serving its clients

The Music to Remember sessions enhance our clients' classroom experiences and brings a wonderful exposure to the world of professional opera. We are grateful for this opportunity, as we share a joint belief in the healing power of music on the body, mind and soul.”

These performances are free of charge and invitation only. If you want to learn more about this program and how to join in:
