Fashion and Beauty Editor and Expert, Kahlana Barfield Brown, has carved a niche for herself in the hyper-competitive world of fashion and beauty publishing. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Kahlana grew up devouring magazines, igniting a passion for writing, fashion, and beauty. She went on to study Journalism and Fashion Merchandising at Howard University, leading her to begin a career at InStyle Magazine in New York City. Kahlana spent a decade climbing the ranks at InStyle, holding titles ranging from Beauty Director to Fashion and Beauty Editor at Large. Today, Kahlana serves as a fashion and beauty expert, creative consultant, on-air talent, and ambassador for leading fashion brands around the world. A mother to two daughters, Kahlana aims to empower and inspire young Black women and champion female advancement through her inspired content, demonstrated work ethic, and continued support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
