Josh Kun is a cultural historian, author, curator, and artist. His many books include Audiotopia: Music, Race, and America (2005), Songs in the Key of Los Angeles (2013), and The Tide Was Always High: The Music of Latin America in Los Angeles (2017). As a curator and artist, he has worked with The California African American Museum, The Grammy Museum, The Los Angeles Public Library, the Vincent Price Art Museum, and many more. He is Professor of Communication in the USC Annenberg School and currently interim Dean of the USC Thornton School of Music. He is the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, a Berlin Prize, and an American Book Award.
