Looking for a unique opera experience to add to your upcoming season?

Who Wants to be an Opera Singer? is a fun and interactive introduction to the opera world. Using the format of a game show, this production demonstrates some of the big ideas in opera. Students in grades 3 through 6 will be introduced to opera concepts like voice and character types, the conductor of an opera, the orchestra and more! With a spin of the “Opera Wheel,” our singers compete for a golden award by singing abridged versions of opera’s greatest hits. Come on down for an unforgettable and educational musical journey.

  • Who Wants to be an Opera Singer? includes music from Carmen (Bizet), La Traviata (Verdi), The Barber of Seville (Rossini), Rigoletto (Verdi) and more.
  • This fully staged production features four professional opera singers, an orchestra of three, sets and costumes.
  • Written by Mark Saltzman, the opera is 45 minutes long and aimed at students in grades 3–6.
  • LA Opera Connects is making this charming production available for your season’s programming during
    January and February of 2023.
