The Community Opera is returning to the Cathedral in the spring of 2023, and we want you to join us.

LEER EN ESPAÑOL

Every spring, we open our stage doors and invite aspiring performers of all ages in the Los Angeles community—including singers, dancers and instrumentalists—to perform along with LA Opera professionals in a fully-staged opera. The community will come together under the baton of Music Director James Conlon for two free performances of a
family favorite at the exquisite Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, March 11, 2023

Written by composer Henry Mollicone and librettist Shishir Kurup, Moses is the empowering story of one nation's struggle for freedom. Based on the Old Testament account, this exciting opera brings together a cast of hundreds to explore universal themes of courage, humility and perseverance.

BE SURE TO JOIN US NEXT YEAR FOR NOAH'S FLOOD ON FRIDAY, MAY 3 AND SAUTRDAY, MAY 4, 2024.
