Samuel B. Keeley is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Leibniz Institute of European History in Mainz, Germany. He specializes in the history of nineteenth century Germany, with particular focus on the history of religion, nationalism, and diplomacy in the period before German unification in 1871. He is currently engaged in writing a book about a transnational network of diplomats, politicians, and missionaries working in Prussia and England. Dr. Keeley received his BA in History from Florida State University, his MA in History from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, and his Ph.D. in History from UCLA.
