Muriel McClendon is Associate Professor of History at UCLA, where she teaches courses on medieval and early modern European history. Her research focuses on early modern England, particularly urban and social history of the Tudor period. She has published a book and articles on the Reformation and political culture in Norwich, which was England’s second largest city at the time. She is currently engaged in a study of philanthropy in Norwich during the early modern era. Professor McClendon received her BA in History from Yale and an MA and Ph.D. in History from Stanford.
